Experimental Characterization of Three-Dimensional Scramjet Inlet with Variable Internal Contraction

چکیده
A compact three-dimensional scramjet intake with a high compression ratio and movable cowl as starting device for the adaption of internal contraction to respective operating conditions was designed parabolic reentry flight experiment. In an extensive measurement campaign, conducted in blowdown wind tunnel at Mach 7, operational behavior this inlet characterized. The parameters investigated include ratio, Reynolds number, angle attack, yaw, examined. Static total pressure ratios mass capture were used evaluate performance throttle curves determine limits. flowfield studied by schlieren images, wall distributions, number profiles interface isolator combustion chamber, which determined rake static pitot probes. flow on external ramp analyzed infrared thermography. showed good regarding efficiency proved be quite robust various angles. tended improve, operated more stably increasing contraction, most important factor being whether leading-edge shock captured cowl.
